Lavender, Prahalis lead Ohio State to win over UNCG

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Jantel Lavender scored 27 points and Samantha Prahalis added 13 points and 11 assists to lead No. 3 Ohio State to an 89-56 win over UNC Greensboro on Wednesday night.

Lavender, who stretched her double-figures scoring streak to 72 games, hit 11 of 17 shots from the field and all five free throws, adding seven rebounds and two blocks.

Sarah Schulze added 11 points before the Buckeyes (6-0) rested most of their starters. Outscoring teams by an average of 19 points in the first half, the Buckeyes led by 18 at the break and never looked back.

Amanda Leigh scored 15 points to lead the Spartans (1-3), who lost their third in a row.

ATHENS, Ga. -- Freshman Jasmine James scored 17 points to lead No. 14 Georgia to a victory against overmatched Alabama State.

All nine players who dressed for Georgia (4-0) played and scored, including 13 apiece by Ashley Houts and Anne Marie Armstrong and 11 by Porsha Phillips.

Tanika Jackson scored 10 points for Alabama State (1-3).

Georgia was playing without 6-foot-5 starting center Angel Robinson, who suffered a neck injury in Georgia's win over Rutgers on Sunday.

The Lady Dogs jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first four minutes. Alabama State closed to within six at 19-13 with 8:32 to play after Nikel White hit a free throw.
