HOLLY RIDGE -- It took a few extra days, but Chapel Hill made sure another long drive to the coast was worth it.

The Tigers returned to Jacksonville to finish a game that began Wednesday, breaking a 1-1 tie in the first sudden-death overtime to advance to today's state championship game.

After regulation time ended Wednesday with the score tied at 1, the game was postponed due to field conditions. Picking up where they left off Friday night, the two played a pair of scoreless 10 minute overtime periods.

Then, early in the first of two sudden-death overtime periods, Chapel Hill received a foul call and free kick close to the Jacksonville goal.

Jamie Dell curved the ball into the corner of the goal just out of the keeper's reach for the victory.

The Tigers face Charlotte Marvin Ridge at noon today for the title at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
