Case 110: This loving, elderly couple spent a lifetime enjoying each other's company. The husband is a retired construction worker who enjoys spending his time fishing and singing for his lovely wife. She is a retired childcare worker who takes pleasure in knitting and reading the Bible. Due to their limited income, there is very little room for any extra spending during this holiday season. They are grateful for each other and all they have in life and would appreciate new pajamas this Christmas.
Case 151: These elderly grandparents have willingly taken on the challenge of raising their teenage granddaughter. The grandfather is in a rehabilitation center due to poor health and income is limited to disability and food stamps. They both fear their granddaughter is very isolated from a normal teen life and would be grateful for the gift a wonderful Christmas.
Case 152: Raising her three young children all alone gets complicated during the holidays. Due to her serious medical conditions and limited income, this mother cannot purchase the presents her children are in need of. This family's Christmas will be so much brighter if they could get a helping hand.
Case 153: Relocating has been difficult for this single mother of five amazing children. She recently moved to Durham and has not yet been able to locate a job. She is, however, actively involved in a job search. If she could get some assistance this holiday season she will be very grateful and hopes to be working by this time next year.
Case 154: This single mother of six young children is working full time as a housekeeper. She works really hard to make ends meet but the income is not enough to pay the bills and provide holiday gifts. She could desperately use detergent, pots and pans, or towels for Christmas. She holds on to the hope that her children will get clothes or a few toys for this special day.
Case 155: This single mother of three is doing her best to care for her children. Her husband is currently incarcerated and the financial burden rests solely on her shoulders. She receives community services for her young child, who suffers from a chronic illness, to provide the finest at home care management. All children are doing well in school and she would love to reward them with a Christmas morning to remember.
Case 156: Providing care for her sick grandmother and raising her three adolescent children is taking its toll on this single mother. Her teenage daughter is pregnant and she is constantly worried about bills and family matters. She is appealing to the good will of others and asking for whatever help might be possible.
Case 157: This family of five struggles financially due to the father's seasonal employment and the mother's inability to work because of health problems. They are a very loving and close knit family who really enjoy spending time with one another. The parents are asking that all gifts be for their three school age children.
