Case 102: A loving father of two young children found himself in the middle of a separation during this holiday season. He is doing everything in his power to provide a stable environment for his children, despite their mother’s drug addiction. During this economic hardship, this father’s hours were drastically reduced at his job. Despite all of these obstacles facing him, he has found a way to provide his family with any and all necessities. Now that the holidays are approaching, he realizes there are no extras funds to provide his family with a Christmas. Please help this dedicated father add normalcy to his children’s lives during this difficult time where there should be celebration.
Case 85: Please consider sponsoring this family for the holidays. Their infant daughter just had major heart surgery and is undergoing a series of challenges. The family would really appreciate some help to encourage the parents and lift the spirits of the other children, ages 9, 7, 4 and 6.
Case 86: This 36-year-old mother of three school-age boys has many chronic, serious medical conditions and is currently unable to work. Help during the holidays will make a lot of difference in how the family is able to enjoy the season. They would appreciate clothes, pots and pans Playstation 3 and X Box 360 games.
Case 87: This 11-year-old boy has been abandoned by his mother, who has been diagnosed with severe mental illness. His godmother and godfather have taken him in. They love him very much, but are still struggling with the fact that his mother left him. He is a bright, active young man who is hoping for a bright future. His godparents ask for nothing for themselves, but would love to see their godson get some winter clothes. He’s a big Tarheel fan, so UNC clothing would surely make him smile.
Case 88: A family friend was kind enough to provide a home for this 9-year-old girl who was taken into DSS custody because of her parents’ physical and mental incapability to care for her at this time. This family friend also has adopted a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. The whole family could use some cheer this holiday season. Both the girl in DSS custody and the other girl in the home would really enjoy Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers movies, a winter coat and other clothing. The boy would enjoy Spiderman items, Lincoln Logs and winter clothes.
Case 89: Single mother of two girls, ages 7 and 8, is employed but making minimum wage. Mom just lost her mother, which devastated her emotionally. The whole family is currently dealing with the loss, but the children are doing well in school. Please spread a little sunshine for this family during the holiday season and in their time of need.
Case 90: The 36-year-old mother in this family has a chronic and disabling medical condition. She lives with her mother, 58, and her three boys, ages 10-14. The grandmother has had to become more involved in her grandchildren’s care recently. A generous SYC sponsor could help this family a great deal this season.
Case 91: This 51-year-old mother of five school-aged children is disabled due to a serious chronic health condition. She struggles to consistently provide basic necessities for all her children. The family desperately needs pots and pans for the household and clothes for all.
Case 92: This 80-year-old man depends on IHA to assist with daily activities. He lives alone and has very little family support. He has several medical conditions and a very fixed income. Bedroom slippers, a sweater, kitchenware and a comforter would help make his holiday bright.
Case 93: This 15-month-old boy is living with his grandmother and his uncle. He was placed with them because his mother and father both have mental health issues that prevent them from providing the care this boy needs. His mother is working at getting him back, but he will be with his grandmother and uncle for Christmas. Please help make this holiday special for him by providing a nice Christmas for his current family.
