Backup quarterback Sean Renfree, getting some playing time in place of banged-up senior starter Thad Lewis, suffered what could be a serious injury when he tried to twist away from the pass rush and fell awkwardly.
Duke coach David Cutcliffe said he didn't know the extent of the injury but said he was worried about the possibility of ligament damage. Duke doesn't have a third-string quarterback and Cutcliffe doesn't want to use a player who is redshirting.
Defensive tackle Vince Oghobaase didn't play, and Cutcliffe called him "at best day-to-day."
In addition, wide receivers Johnny Williams and Austin Kelly were hurt Saturday.
"It will be one of those nights where you'll get phone calls all through the night, trying to figure out what you've got available next week," Cutcliffe said.
