Glaxo donating H1N1 vaccines

LONDON -- GlaxoSmithKline announced Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with the World Health Organization to donate 50 million doses of its H1N1 flu vaccine for distribution to developing countries most in need.

GSK is working with WHO and health authorities to prepare for initial shipments by the end of November.

GSK is also supplying its vaccine to developing countries under a tiered pricing policy that would allow the world's poorest countries to receive preferential prices, based on volume orders. GSK has allocated 20 percent of overall production of its Canadian manufacturing site to developing countries.
