Builders help pets find homes

CHAPEL HILL -- Chapel Hill builders have teamed up with the nonprofit animal rescue group, Paws4Ever, to help homeless pets find forever homes.

The economy has not only affected homeowners, but animals as well. Fewer adoptions, fewer foster homes, and the need for families to return their pets for lack of financial support have all led to a crisis at Paws4Ever.

With the help of these builders, Paws4Ever will auction off unique and fun dog houses at its 4th annual Walk for Animal Protection from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Southern Village Green.

Paws4Ever needs help to continue the lifesaving work it has been performing in Orange County since 1962.

Visit www.paws4ever.org to see the dog houses as they are built and the adoptable pets they could house in the future.

Builders that have contributed pet homes to date are: L.E. Meyers Builders Inc., G. Crabtree Homebuilding Company, Kovens Construction Company and Fitch Lumber.
