Trailing 17-12 with four minutes left Saturday in Charlottesville, the Devils put up 16 late points to claim a 28-17 victory.
"It's tough out there," Duke quarterback Thad Lewis said. "Only the strong survive, so you just have to continue to fight -- don't give up.
"We fought until the final seconds of the game."
With Lewis continuing his hot streak, hitting on 24 of 40 passes for 343 yards, Duke won a third consecutive game for the first time since 1994 to set up one of the most meaningful Duke-North Carolina games in years on Saturday in Chapel Hill.
