PLAYER OF THE GAME

Thad Lewis, Duke quarterback

The Cavs were in Lewis' face all day, but he faced the challenge head-on, hitting on 24 of 40 passes for 343 yards, including the game-winning score with 3:45 left.

PLAY OF THE GAME

With Duke trailing 17-12 and the Blue Devils seemingly unable to crack the end zone, Lewis hit Conner Vernon in stride over the middle for a 42-yard score that gave them the lead and eventually the victory.

STAT OF THE GAME

Duke's defense held Virginia to just 196 yards of total offense, including a single yard in the first quarter and 48 in the fourth quarter. The Blue Devils' offense countered with 424 yards.

WHAT THE WIN MEANS

The Blue Devils are alive and well in the ACC's Coastal Division race, and next week they visit rival North Carolina in a matchup of teams that both need to finish at least 2-2 to go bowling. One will get halfway there.
