UNC-Virginia Tech: Keys to the Game
Virginia Tech's Dyrell Roberts leads the nation in kickoff returns with 40.8 yards per return and brought one back 98 yards for a touchdown earlier this season. UNC's kickoff coverage is ranked sixth in the ACC (41.9 yards per return) but will be keeping a wary eye on Roberts tonight.
HEELS GETTING HEALTHY
UNC has one of the longest injury reports in the conference, but there was some good news this week. Senior center Lowell Dyer could see his first action since the season opener, and tight end Zack Pianalto, who came back briefly last week before suffering a concussion, is cleared to play today.
PLAYING IT COOL
Virginia Tech is 15-4 overall in Thursday night games broadcast on ESPN, and the atmosphere at Lane Stadium is sure to be raucous. It arguably will be the toughest road game the Tar Heels will have this season, but they need to stay calm and stick to their gameplan.
