DURHAM -- The city will host a landlord training workshop Nov. 7 to help them effectively manage their properties.
The workshop is specifically designed to assist landlords, property managers, resident managers, and any others who are actively involved in managing rental housing.
It will demonstrate effective property management practices to significantly contribute to safe and decent housing as well as provide successful techniques on how to halt illegal activity on rental properties.
The event is hosted by the city's departments of neighborhood improvement services, human relations, police, community development, solid waste management, public works' stormwater services, water management and city/county planning.
Other sponsors include the Durham Housing Authority, Legal Aid North Carolina, and the Neighborhood Pride Alliance.
The event will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall, 101 City Hall Plaza.
Seating is limited, so interested participants must register by Oct. 30. The cost to attend the one-day workshop is $30 per person. Refreshments and lunch will be provided for registered participants.
