The new location is one of about 25 company-operated stores in the Triangle area and one of 108 company-operated RadioShack stores in North Carolina.
The new 2,500-square-foot store has RadioShack's latest design, with warm, inviting colors and a more intimate layout, according to the company. RadioShack has another location in Chapel Hill in University Mall.

Cuts for a Cause: Hair By Design is donating proceeds every Saturday morning in October to Urban Ministries of Durham.
Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the salon at 2617 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. will book appointments with all proceeds donated to Urban Ministries. The nonprofit organization provides emergency services such as food, clothing, shelter and counseling and is currently serving nearly 700 meals daily.
Discount for turkey: Food Lion has launched its MVP Free Turkey program for Thanksgiving.
Shoppers can earn $20 off by using their MVP Card and spending $45 per visit each week at their nearest Food Lion store. Customers need to shop six of eight weeks to qualify for the $20 electronic coupon.
To begin enrollment in the program, customers should scan the Free Turkey Card, found in their weekly flier, and their personal MVP Card. The $20 electronic coupons will expire Dec. 8.

Texting not bad 4 U?: Turns out texting isn't the biggest distraction on the road these days, according to LeaseTrader.com, the online service that matches up car dealers with consumers.
In LeaseTrader's survey of 3,000 drivers nationwide, men regarded road rage, eating and checking out other drivers as bigger distractions than texting when they're on the road. Texting only came in at seventh, with 7.6 percent.
Other distractions for men included: reading the paper (9.3 percent), messing with the radio (7.1 percent), and -- Buzz was particularly concerned about this one -- shaving (3.2 percent). Ouch.
For women, having kids in the car posed the greatest distraction, followed by putting on makeup and messing with the radio. Texting came in at eighth.
Other distractions for women included avoiding inclement weather (8.4 percent), reading (3.1 percent) and in-car video (2.5 percent).
