Teen charged in store robbery

DURHAM -- Police arrested a teen Saturday and charged him with robbing the Town and Country store at 1432 E. Club Blvd.

Cpl. J.D. Piatt said police answered a call to the business and Officer J.K. Meade confronted the armed suspect as he left the store.

Meade ''was able to get the suspect to surrender and took him into custody without any injury,'' Piatt said.

The suspect, MacKenzie Brunson, 19, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He remained in the Durham County Jail under a $120,000 bond.

52-year-old faces drug charges

DURHAM -- James Bernard Stewart, 52, of 1119 Eva St. was arrested Sunday and charged with drug offenses. He was charged with possession of 35 rocks of crack cocaine with intent to sell or deliver, possession of 10 pills of Oxycodone with intent to sell or deliver and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police lodge drug charges

DURHAM -- Police arrested Aaron Jameson Thomas, 36, of 1106 Wall St. Sunday and charged him with felony possession of cocaine and possession of up to one-half ounce of marijuana.

Man charged with kidnapping

DURHAM -- Roberto Castillo Castillo, 35, of 2502 E. Ashe St. was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree kidnapping and second-degree sexual offense.

Police lodge drug charges

DURHAM -- Police arrested Antwoine Marcell Royal, 37, of 802 Park Ridge Road, Apt. A5 Saturday and charged him the felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
