Postgame: UNC
Mikell Simpson, Virginia running back
The junior carried the load for the Cavs, as he ran 20 times for 100 yards. He also scored the only touchdown on an 8-yard run in the fourth quarter.
STAT OF THE GAME
UNC struggled on the ground for the second consecutive game, although it did improve from 17 yards rushing a week ago to 39.
PLAY OF THE GAME
UNC trailed 9-3 but got the ball with 10:14 left in the game. But three plays later, Chase Minnifield picked off quarterback T.J. Yates and the Cavs converted the turnover into the go-ahead score.
WHAT THIS LOSS MEANS
Even though UNC coach Butch Davis warned that Virginia was better than its 0-3 record, it's still a surprise that the Tar Heels lost. For the second straight week, UNC failed to show up on offense and is sitting at the bottom of the conference at 0-2.
