Walk for Animal Protection's Nov. 7
MEBANE -- Paws4Ever, the rescue and guaranteed adoption center whose sanctuary is located in Orange County, is preparing for its 4th Annual Walk for Animal Protection on Nov. 7.
Formerly known as the Animal Protection Society of Orange County, Paws4Ever, located in Mebane, is a placement partner for animals transferred from county shelters, including Orange, Chatham, and Caswell, where the number of adoptable pets outpaces the space to house them. Paws4Ever is dedicated to adopting unwanted pets into loving families, ending pet overpopulation through low-cost spay/neuter services, educating adults and children about proper pet care and humane treatment of animals, and offering training classes for obedience, agility and more.
The Walk for Animal Protection will be held at the Southern Village Town Green in Chapel Hill. The event begins at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at noon. It is the largest fundraising event of the year for the agency. Registration is $25 per individual and $20 per member of teams.
Activities will include agility demonstrations, flyball demonstrations, games and contests for pets and children, Paws4Ever drill team performance, live music with Stan Lewis and the Rockin' Revelers, 2-mile fun walk around Southern Village, sponsors and vendor booths displaying all the latest in supplies and services for pets.
