I was disgusted to see your cartoon on Monday, 9/21 depicting tea party participants as Ku Klux Klan members. I know a lot of tea party people and I grew up around a lot of Klan vermin. These are not the same people at all. You have falsely smeared a lot of good people. Could things like this be one of the reasons newspapers are dropping likes flies? How much longer do you have, Herald-Sun?

Seeking answers
I have been trying to find out for two years why Cora Cole McFadden cost a man his livelihood and the City of Durham $150,000 and why she attended meetings against city policy.
Also, why Mayor Bill Bell, who is supposed to be in charge of this city, could only say "ask her."
I never could get an answer to these questions. How many jobs would $150,000 pay for? And now these same people are running for reelection?
Maybe someone else can get an answer. We sure need a change in Durham.

Problems with Price
David Price has represented the Triangle area in Congress for a long time. He has been consistently very partisan and very unresponsive to constituents with requests to support legislation other than the Democratic party line.
For the past several months, I have tried repeatedly to contact him regarding health care legislation. I have called all four of his offices, written numerous e-mails, and even written him via the U.S. Postal Service. All without any response other than a couple of spam e-mails.
He virtually hid from his constituents during the recent recess, appearing only at one or two carefully controlled events while obviously avoiding constituent input on the hot issue of health care. But this week we get two clear indications of Price's congressional priorities and activities.
He was one of only a few in Congress so unconcerned about ACORN corruption that he voted to continue funding them. Even Barney Frank knew better than to support child prostitution by illegal aliens.
And we learned that he single-handedly, via an "earmark," funneled $10 million to UNC for a project supposedly intended to help our National Guard and Army Reserve troops. After five years and $7.3 million, the project has provided a very comfortable living for eight staff members and hundreds of thousands to consultants, but absolutely nothing to brave and devoted North Carolina soldiers.
Price is up for re-election in a year. We should all take a close look at what other corruption he has supported.
