DURHAM -- August Turak will lead a lectured Tuesday titled "Business Secrets of the Trappists: How the Power of the Monastic Tradition Will Transform Your Business and Your Life."
The free event is at 7 p.m. in the Sanford Building of Public Policy on Duke University's West Campus.
August Turak is a successful corporate and not-for- profit executive, entrepreneur, and the Templeton Prize winning author of "Brother John." This lecture expands on his recent four-part series, "Business Secrets of the Trappists," which topped the charts on Forbes.com for almost two weeks and which will soon be a book.

Nursing program hosts review
DURHAM -- Durham Technical Community College will host a site review for initial accreditation of its Associate Degree Nursing program.
The public is invited to meet the visiting team and share comments about the program Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. The meeting will be held in the multipurpose room of the Wynn Student Services Center on Durham Tech's main campus.

Flu shot clinic at Durham Regent
DURHAM -- Durham Regent retirement community will host a Flu Shot Clinic on Oct. 7 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
The clinic is open to the public and will offer free flu shots to seniors 65 and over with the appropriate information that includes a Medicare card and/or insurance card. For those under 65, the flu shot is $35 and the pneumonia shot is $40.
