Northwood 22, Triton 15

PITTSBORO -- Northwood found the end zone twice over the final four minutes to remain undefeated at Erwin Triton's expense.

Triton (4-2) led 15-8 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Chargers (6-0) closed the gap when Shane Peppers, nephew of Carolina Panthers standout Julius Peppers, scored from 2 yards out.

Northwood missed the potential tying extra point, but the Chargers got the break they needed when Donyea Rhodes recovered a Triton fumble near the 40-yard line. After Peppers, who finished with 155 yards rushing, picked up a few yards, Northwood quarterback Sam Griffin hooked up with A.J. Farmer for an 18-yard score with about 1:30 left to win it.
