Costume workshop

Helen Buiskool and Jane Bergman will show you how to make masks, costumes and puppets that you can parade down the street with in the Second Annual Hillsborough Handmade Parade. This is a free workshop for parade participants, but enrollment is limited, so if you want be part of the fun please pre-register. Adults and children 8 years and older. (Under 10 must be accompanied by an adult).

Cornfield maze

The McKee Farm has one of the largest mazes in North Carolina. Two acres of fun. Interactive adventurous maze for children or young at heart. Maze opens today and runs through Nov. 1.

Luna Moths

Why do we see Luna Moths in April and again in late summer and early fall? This phenomenon is shared with two other Giant Silk Moth species in our area: the Polyphemous Moth and the Tulip tree Silk Moth. Learn and study the caterpillars from egg to cocoon. Appropriate for fifth-graders through adults. Bob Palmatier, certified environmental education, will present. .

The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at North Carolina Botanical Garden, Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill.
