DURHAM -- Rashad Eldridge hadn't played since Saturday's first-round playoff game at Louisville, but he came off the bench at the right time for the Durham Bulls.

The designated hitter went 3-for-4, including a go-ahead solo home run, to help lead Durham to a 4-1 win over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on a rainy Wednesday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls head to Pennsylvania today with a 2-0 lead in the Governors' Cup Finals.

"Perfect timing," said Eldridge, who also had two doubles and scored two runs.

Eldridge accounted for three of Durham's seven hits. He also drove in three of the Bulls' four runs to increase his season total to 20.

"Baseball's a crazy game, you never know," Eldridge said. "You try to do the same thing every day, and then sometimes some balls find holes and sometimes they won't. It's just a good day."

Joe Bateman picked up his second win of the postseason in relief.
