DURHAM -- Brian Francis Cuffe, age 67, died Monday, September 7, 2009, at Duke Medical Center following a brief illness. Brian was born in Buffalo, NY on October 28, 1941 to the late Francis and Louise Frey Cuffe.
An avid skier, captain of the SUNY Buffalo ski team, and certified ski instructor, Brian also cherished gardening, travel, and most importantly his three grandchildren. He enjoyed a long career in regional retail management, most recently with Stein Mart stores. Brian was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharon Cuffe of Durham; his sons: Michael Cuffe and wife, Rowena Dolor Cuffe, of Chapel Hill; Daniel Cuffe of Singapore; and his three grandchildren: Megan, Andrew and Evan Cuffe.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 from St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father John Durbin, S.T.L., presiding.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian's memory may be made to the American Red Cross or to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 940 Carmichael St., Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

Vivian Peaks Mangum
DURHAM -- Mrs. Vivian Peaks Mangum, 71, born Oct. 17, 1937 to the late Percy and Blanche Peaks Sr., died late Thursday night at Duke Hospice Pavilion.
Mrs. Mangum was married to the late Charlie J. Mangum Sr., retired from Duke Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Mangum and Charlie J. (Chuck) Mangum Jr.
Funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Raleigh. The wake will be held Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Scarborough and Hargett Funeral home.
The family will receive family and friends at the home of Rita Mangum at 3501 Play Gate Ln., Durham.
Marion Self Moore
DURHAM -- Marion Self Moore, 75 of 201 N. Maple Street, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Durham Regional Hospital. She retired from GTE. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Faye Self; one grandchild, Ashley Self; and one brother, Delatha L. Self.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at noon. Burial will be in Glennview Memorial Park.

Eric Marland Russ
DURHAM -- Eric Marland Russ, 65, formerly of Durham, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at his home in Portland, Oregon.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19th, at 11 a.m. at the Maplewood Cemetery, Section 6, in Durham. A gathering and sharing of memories will follow the service at the home of Martha Niles.
Eric is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred C. Russ, and father, William F. Russ.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Russ of the home; one sister, Martha Niles of Durham; and three brothers, Fred Russ of Zebulon, Lloyd Russ of Mebane, and Lewis Russ of Durham.
Donna Satterwhite Warren
DURHAM -- Mrs. Donna Satterwhite Warren, 61, of 525 W. Bywood Dr., died Thursday morning at Durham Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Warren was born in Durham Co., the daughter of the late Nell Horton Satterwhite and the late Ira Watson Satterwhite. She was a lifelong resident of Durham and a graduate of Durham High School and Watts School of Nursing. Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Satterwhite Howell.
Mrs. Warren is survived by her husband, Barry Wayne Warren; daughter, Tracey Warren Myers of Wake Forest; son, Jerry Wayne Warren of Durham; and grandchildren, Caitlin Myers, Jackson Myers, Hannah Myers and Paisley Warren; and a half brother, Lee Satterwhite of Wilmington.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. Elizabeth Ferguson King Holler
HILLSBOROUGH -- Elizabeth Ferguson King Holler, age 88, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on September 9, 2009. Her daughter was by her side.
She was born in South Boston, Va., and was raised in Danville, Va. Her parents, A.C. King and Elizabeth Ferguson King, her husband, Alfred Wendell Holler and 10 siblings preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Elizabeth Holler Kimball; her granddaughters; Caron Kimball Parker, Elizabeth Paige Kimball Marsh, Amber Mae Kimball, Anne-Marie Kimball Camp, Kelly Scott; and great grandchildren; Alicia, Brooklynn, and Kimball Parker; Daniel Marsh; Grace, Caleb, and Chloe Camp; Kirk, Corbin, Sara, and Ainsley Haas.
A celebration of her life will be held on September 20, 2009 at A. L. Stanback Middle School on Hwy 86 S, Hillsborough, NC 27278. Visitation is at 2 p.m. Service is at 3 p.m.
George Ransom Wagoner
CEDAR GROVE -- Mr. George Ransom Wagoner, 77, died unexpectedly Friday, September 11, 2009, at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.
He was born February 22, 1932, to the late Jesse Horner Wagoner and Willliam Currie Wagoner.
He is survived by his two daughters: Debbie Wagoner and Kay McConnell (Robert); his granddaughter, Melissa McConnell; and his fiancé, Mary Ann Sykes. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Annie Lou James; four sisters: Birdie W. Scott, Cora Lee W. Painter, Annie W. Watkins, and Louise W. Pope; and his brother, Russell Wagoner. Mr. Wagoner was a lifelong member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church and a member of Cedar Grove Ruritan Club.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Methodist Church Driveway Fund. Arrangements for the Wagoner family are being handled by Walker’s Funeral Home of Hillsborough.
