Walk for Animal Protection Nov. 7

CHAPEL HILL -- The Fourth Annual Walk for Animal Protection will be held Nov. 7 at the Southern Village Town Green in Chapel Hill.

Events begin at 9 a.m., and the walk starts at noon.

Registration is $25 for individuals and $20 for team members.

The event is Paws4Ever's largest fundraiser of the year. Paws4Ever is dedicated to adopting unwanted pets into loving families, ending pet overpopulation through low cost spay/neuter services, educating adults and children about proper pet care and humane treatment of animals, and training classes for obedience, agility and more.

Pig Pals sets fall fest for Oct. 10

HILLSBOROUGH -- Pig Pals is having its fourth annual Fall Festival from 1-4 p.m. Oct 10. There will be free food and a live band, door prizes, a silent auction, canoeing, swimming and pigs.

Pig Pals of NC is a 501c3 organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of miniature pigs. The group now is located in Orange County and will be relocating to Chatham County (Pittsboro) in 2010. This event will help raise funds for food, medical, housing and relocation expenses.
