Scott to present at author tea

Joanna Catherine Scott will be the guest for the Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library's Meet-the-Author Tea at the Chapel Hill Public Library, 100 Library Drive, Sept. 18. Refreshments will be available at 3:30 p.m. and the program will be presented from 4 to 5 p.m.

Scott was born in England, raised in Australia, and took her graduate degree in philosophy at Duke University. She is the author of "The Road from Chapel Hill" and other novels as well as works of nonfiction and poetry.

Pearce discusses collaboration

Emily Eidenier Pearce will discuss her collaboration with Rogers Road community members on a book titled "Rogers Road" during a free, public program at the Chapel Hill Public Library, 100 Library Drive, Sept. 19 from 3 to 4 p.m.

The book is being released in conjunction with the opening of a community photographic archive at the Wilson Library of UNC. The exhibition: "Rogers Road: We're All Family Here" will be on display in June.
