Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bass player Jack Casady have been playing music together since they were teenagers in Washington, D.C. They were founding members of 1960s San Francisco icons Jefferson Airplane, and during their days in that band they formed the group Hot Tuna, which allowed them to explore the music they grew up on -- blues, folk and other traditional music. Hot Tuna will perform today at Cat's Cradle, 300 E. Main St., Carrboro. Doors for this 8:30 p.m. show open at 7:30. For tickets, call 967-9053 or visit www.catscradle.com.
