Forecast wipes out today’s, Saturday's prep schedule

DURHAM -- The Durham Public Schools on Friday announced that all school-related events scheduled for Saturday have been canceled.

That is in addition to the already announced cancellations of all area high school sports events originally scheduled for today (Friday).

As a result, the Southern at Hillside girls/boys basketball doubleheader previously rescheduled for Saturday will not be played and has been moved to Feb. 9 at 6/7:30 p.m.

Also, there's been a change to the makeup date change for the Person at Northern basketball doubleheader.

Both games will be made up at 6/7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, as will the Jordan at East Chapel Hill and Chapel Hill at Northern Vance makeup doubleheaders.

Durham Academy will make up a basketball doubleheader at 4:30/6 p.m. Monday at Raleigh's Ravenscroft School.

Among other announced postponements with makeup dates set are:

—  The Orange girls’ game at Oxford Webb and Webb boys at Orange will be made up Monday at 7:30 p.m.

— An indoor boys’ and girls’ track and field meet at Eastern Alamance will be held Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Cresset Christian will now play a doubleheader Monday at 5:30 and 7 p.m. at Grace Christian in Sanford.
