Those game-high 18 points from N.C. Central junior Racquel Davis weren’t enough to get her squad past Maryland Eastern Shore in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Monday.

MESU won 72-57 .

Davis scored all but two of her points in the second half and was 5 of 5 from the field and 8 of 10 from the charity stripe.

NCCU redshirt senior Jessica Freeman had 14 points, and NCCU freshman Alexus Hynes scored seven points and had three rebounds.

UMES (5-14, 1-6) had three players score in double figures, led by 16 points from Ashleigh Claybrooks.

NCCU (8-13, 3-5) hosts Bethune-Cookman on Saturday.
