BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Voyager Academy 49  South Granville 46

CREEDMOOR — Charlie Stone’s 14 points and Coltyn Faucette’s 13 points and 12 rebounds led Voyager to an key Carolina 12 1-A/2-A Conference victory over South Granville Thursday.
Voyager (10-7, 6-4 C-12) trailed by three at halftime, but cut the lead to one headed into the fourth.
 Key steals by Faucette and Gary Ford led Voyager’s fourth quarter defensive effort and Voyager made 6 of 7 free throws in the final period to secure the win.
Taz Strudwick scored a game-high 16 points and Marion Thorpe added 10 for South Granville (11-6, 6-3 C-12).

WRESTLING
Cedar Ridge 39, NCSSM 30

DURHAM — Cedar Ridge picked up forfeit wins at 106, 120, 126 and 152 pounds and that was more than enough to offset a strong effort by the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics in a Carolina 12 1-A/2-A Conference match.
Winners in contested bouts included Duncan Brown, Nicholas McNamara, Henry Seiler, William Gottenstrater, Jeshua Ray and Benson Robles for NCSSM, and Brendan Way, Zachary Dwinell and Sam Stuart for Cedar Ridge.
Both teams forfeited the 285-pound class.

Jordan 31, Millbrook 26
DURHAM — PAC-6 4-A champion Jordan won a non-conference nailbiter over Raleigh Millbrook behind wins from Brock Oakley, Spencer Service, Robert Tomasic, Patrick Tomasic, Kartaoui Allal, Tyrece Jones and Courtland Parker.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
DSA 40, Roxboro Community 13

DURHAM — Ariel Wilson scored 15 points and Jaida Henderson had a game-high 12 rebounds to lead Durham School of the Arts past visiting Roxboro Community in Carolina 12 1-A/2-A Conference play Thursday.
Wilson also led DSA in steals with eight and assists with two.

New Garden 55, CFS 29
GREENSBORO — New Garden Friends School, which is rapidly becoming a state basketball power on both the girls and boys sides, routed Carolina Friends School in a non-conference game Thursday.
Lydia Youngblood did most of the damage for CFS (14-7) with 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals.
New Garden improved to 27-4.

DURHAM — The Durham Academy boys tied North Raleigh Christian Academy and routed Fayetteville Academy in a quad meet Thursday.
Nathan Greeley won the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke, Matthew Attarian the 50 free and 100 breast stroke and Trey Harris the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly.
Greeley, Attarian and Harris also combined with James Grubbs to win the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.
The DA girls beat St. Mary’s School of Raleigh and Fayetteville Academy, but lost to North Raleigh Christian.
The girls team had no double winners.
