Northern basketball coach Matt Hunt resigned Thursday as announced in a release by the school's athletics direct Walt Hensler. "It is with great regret that I must announce that Matt Hunt, boys basketball coach at Northern, has announced his resignation from coaching due to personal/family reasons," Hensler said in the release.

NCHSAA gives OK to plan for realignment
The NCHSAA Board of Directors concluded its spring meeting on Wednesday with a flurry of actions. Chief among the items approved by the board was the realignment plan for 2009-13 that will begin in August of next year. No changes were made from the original proposal.
