Heels, Eagles look for first wins; Devils, Pack aim for 2-0 start
North Carolina and N.C. Central taste their first home cooking of the season today, while the Duke Blue Devils hit the road looking to end a skid that dates to the 1998 season.
That’s the most recent time that Duke began a football season 2-0. But after a lopsided victory over N.C. Central a week ago, the Blue Devils visit Memphis (4:30 p.m.) with a chance to end that string. The game is available to Time Warner Cable Sports Pass subscribers on channel 518.
In Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels host Middle Tennessee State at Kenan Stadium (12:30 p.m., WLFL) looking for their first win of the season.
Likewise, N.C. Central will be looking to shake off the effects of a 45-0 loss to Duke today when St. Augustine’s invades O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium (2 p.m.).
N.C. State also will be looking to run its record to 2-0 when the Wolfpack hosts Richmond at Carter-Finley Stadium (6 p.m., TWC channel 519).
