EAGLES EXTRAS: The Unemployment Rate
Chatter about former North Carolina coach Butch Davis not being able to get a job coaching college football begs the same question about former N.C. Central coach Henry Frazier III.
UNC football players receiving impermissible benefits from sports agents, along with getting phony grades, cost Davis his job.
Former NCCU quarterback Michael Johnson has been charged with having involvement with some of that funny money at UNC, but that’s not the reason why Frazier was fired. Personal issues regarding Frazier’s ex-wife got his whistle snatched.
But the NCAA cleared Davis, and a Wake County judge found Frazier not guilty of violating a domestic violence protective order, the charge that prompted his firing.
Yet Bobby Petrino — where do you want to begin with his bad business? — just got hired to return as Louisville’s football coach?
If this is about wins on resumés, then Frazier and Davis have satisfied that prerequisite.
