Tournament roundup: DA, Cresset, CFS girls advance to finals

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Cresset Christian 50, Trinity/Raleigh 37
CCC Tournament semifinal
SANFORD — Freshman Maredith Devlin had a team high 19 points and a game-high 15 rebounds and sister Melissa Devlin, a senior, chipped in 14 points and four assists to lead Cresset Christian Academy (15-6) into today’s 5 p.m. Carolina Christian Conference Tournament championship game.
Cresset will face homestanding Grace Christian School in the title game of the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A league.
Maggie Addison scored 10 points for Cresset.
Trinity School of Raleigh (11-11) was led in scoring in the semifinal shootout by Kristie Demski with 22 points.

Durham Academy 59, NRCA 45
TISAC Tournament semifinal
RALEIGH — Liz Roberts scored 14 points and added a team-best nine rebounds as Durham Academy advanced to the championship game of the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference Tournament today at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh.
The Cavaliers will meet Cary Academy for the TISAC title at 6 today.

BURLINGTON — Lydia Youngblood’s 16 points and 11 rebounds led Carolina Friends School past Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill and into the championship game of the Triad Athletic Conference Tournament at 4:30 p.m. today.
The tournament is being played at Burlington Christian Academy.
