BASEBALL
Cedar Ridge 7, Carrboro 6
(8 innings)

HILLSBOROUGH — Michael Burroughs, the third Cedar Ridge pitcher of the night, was the beneficiary of a two-run, bottom of the eighth Red Wolves comeback win over Carrboro.
Carrboro had made up a five-run deficit with three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to send the game into extra innings and took a 6-5 lead in the top of the eighth.
Cedar Ridge answered with a pair in the bottom of the eighth to win it.

Jordan 5, East Chapel Hill 1
DURHAM — Kerry Walker homered and drove in a pair of runs and Jordan took advantage of four East Chapel Hill errors to win Tuesday’s PAC-6 4-A showdown.
Jordan (11-6, 5-2 PAC-6) remained in second place with the win while East (10-7, 4-3) dropped out of a tie for second and into fourth place with the loss.

Orange 4, Northern Vance 2
HENDERSON — Nick Debo homered twice and drove in all four Orange runs Tuesday for the Panthers (14-1, 4-1 Carolina 6 3-A), who entered the day 1/2-game behind C-6 leader Cardinal Gibbons.
Starter Braden Weber (3-0) got the win and Jon Evans picked up his sixth save with two innings of scoreless relief.

NRCA 13, Durham  Academy 3
DURHAM — Triangle Independents Schools Athletic Conference leader North Raleigh Christian Academy (11-5, 4-0 TISAC) broke open a close game with six runs in the fourth inning and tagged on four more in the seventh.
Durham Academy (1-11) remained winless in four TISAC outings.

BOYS’ TENNIS
ECH 9, Hillside 0

CHAPEL HILL — Conference leader East Chapel Hill (13-5, 10-0 PAC-6) swept all nine matches in a meeting against winless Hillside (0-2, 0-2) which included two varsity basketball stars — D’Ontray Johnson and De’Shon Self — and two star football players — Korrin Wiggins and Javien Knight — in its lineup.

Durham Academy 9, NRCA 0
DURHAM — Durham Academy (11-1) swept North Raleigh Christian Academy (4-6) in a Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference match Tuesday. After taking all six singles matches, five DA winners tacked on doubles wins as well.
The only non-top six player to win a match was Kiran Nagar who replaced No. 6 singles winner Addy Bollerslev in the doubles lineup.

CFS 8, Westchester CDS 1
DURHAM — Carolina Friends School won eight of nine matches, falling only at No. 3 doubles, Tuesday to down Westchester Country Day School.

Trinity 9, Kerr Vance 0
DURHAM —The Trinity School of Durham & Chapel Hill manhandled Kerr Vance Academy, sweeping all nine matches Tuesday.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE
DA 17, St. Mary’s 4

RALEIGH — Jordan Barry scored five times and Madion Dunk and Robin Blazing added three goals each as Durham Academy crushed St. Mary’s on the road.
Leander Peru, Hannah Pope and Naomi Lerner scored twice each for the Cavaliers.

BOYS’ LACROSSE
ECH 17, Carrboro 2

CARRBORO — East Chapel Hill got five goals from Ian Levin and three apiece from Ryan Dotson, Riley Reid and Drew Monroe to rout Carrboro in a cross-county rivalry. Sam Parker scored both Carrboro goals.

Cedar Ridge 20, Orange 7
HILLSBOROUGH — Cedar Ridge got four goals from Jackson McJunkin and three each from Zack Roby, Marquez Hunter and Jeff Williams in its one-sided win over it’s cross-town rival.
Cedar Ridge improved to 7-5 and Orange dropped to 1-9.

GIRLS’ SOCCER
Trinity 2, WCDS 2

HIGH POINT — The Trinity School of Durham & Chapel Hill tied Westchester Country Day behind a goals from Sarah Spencer and Allie Ruffing. Ruffing and Grace French added assists for Trinity.

DURHAM — Tara Nagar’s second half goal — assisted by Frances McDonald — broke a scoreless tie and led Durham Academy past North Raleigh Christian Academy Tuesday.

DURHAM — Alex Brese shot even-par 36, one stroke better than teammate Carson Hunt, as Riverside edged Durham Academy in a nine-hole match at Croasdaile Country Club Tuesday.
Will Beisher, Andrew Hanna and Dylan Lukes each shot 38 to lead DA.
