Lipscomb’s 24 lead Cresset past Trinity

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Cresset 55, Trinity 51

DURHAM — Shawn Lipscomb fired in 24 points and Sherwood Young added 15 to lead Cresset to a 55-51 win over Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill in boys’ basketball action Tuesday night.
Paul Dunlap and Tyler Eckstein posted 11 points each for Trinity, while Todd Echstenkamper chipped in 10.

Holly Springs 52, Riverside 41
DURHAM — Anthanee Doyle posted 19 points to lead Holly Springs to a 52-41 win over Riverside in boys’ basketball.
Justice Kithcart led Riverside (4-5), which trailed 11-3 heading into the second quarter, with 10 points.
Deejay Flippin added 10 points for Holly Springs (6-3).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Trinity 55, Cresset 52

DURHAM — Kellie Schaefer posted 21 points to lead Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill to a 55-52 victory over Cresset in girls’ basketball action Tuesday night.
Victoria James added 16 points and Allie Ruffing 14 for Trinity (4-3, 1-0 TAC).
Meredith Devlin led Cresset with 20 points, Maggie Addison had 10.

CFS 37, O’Neal 13
SOUTHERN PINES — Jolene Wells posted 13 points to lead Carolina Friends School to a 37-13 win over The O’Neal School in girls’ basketball.
Lydia Youngblood scored 12 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Carolina Friends (6-3), which led 18-5 at halftime.
