Falcons cruise past Southern wrestlers

Jordan 42, Southern 25
DURHAM — Brock Oakley opened a string of three straight pins for Jordan to lead the Falcons to a 42-25 win over Southern in wrestling.
Oakley pinned Rian Honore in the 113-pound class, Jordan’s Spencer Service beat Deshaun Edmondson 3:25 into their match at 120, and Robert Tomasic kept the momentum at 126 pounds by pinning Jayr Lewis in 1:06.

Carrboro 42, South Granville 40
CREEDMOOR — Carrboro claimed seven pinfalls in taking a 42-40 victory over South Granville in wrestling action Wednesday.
Carrboro’s Carson McKay claimed the quickest victory, pinning Blake Ellis just 38 seconds into their 170-pound match.

Heritage 42, South Granville 34
CREEDMOOR — Wake Forest Heritage won eight bouts and overcame an early 18-3 deficit to put away South Granville.
South picked up pins by Brandon Meeks, Nathan Castillo and Brysen Thorpe at 113, 120 and 160 pounds and a major decision by Kenneth Walls at 195 in addition to a forfeit at 126.

Millbrook 49, Chapel Hill 24
RALEIGH — Tommy Morrison, Erik Jens, Roberto Sibrian and Arthur Colson picked up pins at 126, 132, 195 and 285, but Millbrook had too much depth for the Tigers to overcome.
Millbrook won nine of the 13 bouts, three by pin and two by forfeit.
