Northern 77, Northwood 68

PITTSBORO — Northern improved to 5-2 behind Ricky Council II’s team high 20 points.
Council and Kentrell Barkley led the Knights with 10 rebounds apiece. Barkley had 13 points, Ryan Arundale 12 (and a team-high three assists) and T.J. Crutchfield 10 points for the Knights.
Kadarus Rone led Northwood (2-1) with a game-high 24 points, Charles Hope added 19 and Aumad Walker finished with 16 for the Chargers.

Granville Central 52, Raleigh Charter 40
STEM — Michael Freeman led three Granville Central players in double figures with 17 points and had a team-high 12 rebounds as the Panthers won their Carolina 12 1-A/2-A Conference opener against Raleigh Charter.
Nyquan Wortham scored 13 and Jeremiah Green 12 for Granville Central (5-1, 1-0 C-12.)

Leesville Road 37, Chapel Hill 35
Chapel Hill 54, Middle Creek 24

RALEIGH — Chapel Hill (8-5) picked up wins in four of the first six weight classes contested, but lost five of the next six as homestanding Leesville Road won in the opening dual match of a tri-meet here.
In the nightcap, Chapel Hill downed Middle Creek handily, despite losing by pin in the opening two bouts.
In its two-point win, Leesville forfeited the final two weight classes after clinching the team verdict and make it close at the end.
Chapel Hill winners against Leesville were Nick Stefanidis, Tommy Morrison, Erik Jens, Eliot Martin and Ethan Martin. Robert Price and Arthur Colson won by forfeit.
In the win over Apex Middle Creek, Morrison, Jens, Camden Bergey, Eliot Martin, George McBurney, Price and Colson each won by pin for Chapel Hill. Stefanidis and Andrew Hotong won by forfeit.

Jordan 56, East Chapel Hill 18
DURHAM — Brock Oakley, Spencer Service, Robert Tomasic, Mikah Marcin, Matthew Morgan and Keifer Knight pinned their opponents Wednesday night as Jordan stopped East Chapel Hill.
Other Jordan winners were Karaoui Allal and Tyrece Jones. East forfeited at 106 and 285 pounds.
East winners were Cole Jenson with a decision at 132 and Tyler Shull, Zaq Balogun and Frank Roscigno at 160, 170 and 195 by pin.

Carolina Friends School 35, New Garden Friends School 25

DURHAM—Lydian Youngblood had a team high 11 points and five assists and shared the team rebounding lead with Olivia Howes (seven) as Carolina Friends School shut down visiting New Garden Friends School.
