Northern Durham tied the game up twice in the final quarter and made two big plays in overtime to rally past Roxboro Person 21-14 in County Stadium for its first win of the season.

Knights’ powerback Kendrick Bailey scored from 3 yards out with 22 seconds to play to cap off a dramatic drive to force overtime.

Northern quarterback Zaaqhai Mann competed three passes on tying drive, including connecting with Jalon Nixon on a huge reception on fourth-and-8.

The Knights’ signal caller rushed for 145 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown up the middle on the first play of overtime.

Northern defensive back Micah Sessions ignited the celebration when he intercepted a jump ball in the end zone intended for Person tight end LeRon Cash.

Rocket quarterback Trevon Tapp connected on 10-of-17 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns, including a 7-yard strike to Corey Young to give Person a 14-7 lead with 3:12 to play.
