The Golden Gryphons’ rush forced five turnovers and created seven sacks.

Running back Tobiah Lewis, who ran for three touchdowns in the Warriors’ season-opening victory, was held to 35 yards on 13 carries. Quarterback Beau Smith ran routinely was flushed out of the pocket and threw two interceptions.

Rocky Mount (2-0) didn’t possess superior size, but its linebackers were able to find cracks in the offensive line.

Problems started right away. On just the third play, Smith was forced to scramble in a collapsing pocket and the ball was knocked loose. Rocky Mount took a 10-point lead four plays later.

Webb finished with just 142 total yards offense.
