A fired up Orange did what no other Big Eight team has accomplished this year — shocked Cardinal Gibbons 83-74 for the Crusaders’ first conference loss. The Panthers bled Cardinal Gibbons for a season-high points-against to improve to 5-3 in conference play. Crusaders’ 6-4 forward Logan Bugg nailed an insane 10 3-pointers and had a game-high 38 points.
Fueled by a second half scoring explosion, Orange stunned Chapel Hill 61-59 late Friday in an upset nail-biter that came down to the last shot of the game and scrambled the early outlook in the Big Eight 3-A Conference.
Conference play gets into full swing on Tuesday night across the area as teams jump back into action after the holiday break.
