Class of 2015: East Chapel Hill High School

The irrepressible march of technology, East Chapel Hill High School Principal Elaine Tully said, worried her older generation that millennials would become “isolated, insulated and self-absorbed.” To her delight, she told 347 graduates during commencement ceremonies at the Dean E. Smith Center on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus Saturday morning, their generation has created its own communities. They learned to use social media as a tool to express ideas, share opinions, and ignite a passion for life’s challenges.

Moton connects with bullying victim

N.C. Central basketball coach LeVelle Moton has been vocal in his anti-bullying campaigns. Last year, through his foundation, Velle Cares, he spoke at area schools to bring awareness all forms of bullying and the impact that it can have on teenagers.
