Riverside heads into state playoffs unbeaten in PAC-6

Riverside 3, Northern 0
DURHAM  — Riverside coach Mike Hodge navigated the Pirates to an undefeated 4-A PAC-6 season with a 3-0 win at Northern on Monday.
Riverside got 12 kills apiece from Rachel Kallianos and Zariya Thomasville.
Victoria Pearce had eight digs for the Pirates and teammate Casey Speer lofted 23 assists.
The Pirates didn’t lose a single game in the PAC-6, going 10-0.
Three of the last four PAC-6 titles ended up at Riverside.
The state playoffs begin on Saturday, and Riverside will be a No. 1 seed hosting the No. 4 seed from the Cap-8 Conference.

East Chapel Hill 3, Jordan 0
EAST CHAPEL HILL — East Chapel Hill shutout Jordan 3-0 Monday.
Jordan got eight kills from Margaret Dunn and 18 assists from Rose Gunn, but the Wildcats were too much for the Falcons.

Franklinton 3, NCSSM 2
FRANKLINTON — Franklinton’s 3-2 win over N.C. School of Science and Mathematics in the 2-A Northern Carolina Conference quarterfinals ended the Unicorns’ season on Monday.
Sheridan Earnhardt had 24 digs and three aces for NCSSM, and Sam Zarnick was setting up her teammates with 23 assists to go with five digs.
“For the third time this season we went five games with Franklinton,” NCSSM coach Davene Mainwaring said. “We stuck to our game plan in the first two games, but once we deviated from it, we obviously didn’t get the same results. So our season ends.”
South Granville gets a crack at Franklinton today in the semifinals.

NCSSM 8, Bunn 0

BUNN — N.C. School of Science and Mathematics shutout Bunn 8-0 on Monday.
Jarod Glover led the Unicorns with three goals, with Cameron Pharr, Jacob Einstein, Thomas Winslow, Henry Bristol and Thomas Baraldi all getting in on the scoring with a goal apiece.
Pharr, Einstein and Baraldi each had an assist.
