BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Durham Academy 63, Voyager 49
DURHAM — Durham Academy took advantage of Voyager’s slow start and got a 63-49 win Monday.
Voyager managed to squeeze out 4 points in the first period and 8 points in the second.
Durham Academy went into halftime leading 34-12.
The Vikings finally warmed up and exploded for 24 points in the third period.
Voyager point guard Gary Ford led all scorers with 17 points.
Durham Academy got 16 points from Alston Thompson and 14 points from Slater Daniels.

Jordan 83, Holly Springs 61
DURHAM— Jordan handled Holly Springs 83-61 Monday.
Mike Lee (13 points), Josh Thompson (10 points), Mike spears (12 points) and Tyreek Frye (12 points) provided balanced scoring for Jordan.

Carrboro 74, Corinth-Holders 65
CARRBORO— Carrboro took care of business in a 74-65 win over Corinth-Holders on Monday.
Corinth-Holders made a little push in the fourth period, but 18 points apiece from Carrboro’s Matt Pruitt and James Scott helped the Jaguars come out on top.

Hilltop Christian 69, Fellowship Baptist 66
FUQUAY-VARINA — Hilltop Christian beat Fellowship Baptist 69-66 Monday.
Fellowship Baptist got a huge game from Timothy Dail, who scored 29 points.
Andrew Moolenaar also was in double figures for the Eagles.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Holly Springs 51, Jordan 47
DURHAM — Holly Springs left the Bull City with a 51-47 win over Jordan on Monday.
Kiara Leslie scored 15 points for Holly Springs.
Jordan freshman Lizz Layne had 15 points for Jordan, and junior Salita Greene (15 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals) was in double figures for the Falcons, too,.
Good 3-point shooting helped Holly Springs, while 48 percent free-three shooting didn’t do Jordan any favors.

Cresset 48, Trinity 45
DURHAM — In a close one, Cresset Christian Academy beat Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill 48-45 Monday.
Cresset’s Maggie Addison led all scorers with 28 points but got plenty of help from teammate Maredith Devlin’s 18 points.
Allie Ruffing (18 points) and Victoria James (16 points) were in double figures for Trinity.  James hit four 3-pointers.

Fayetteville Academy 40, Carolina Friends 33
DURHAM — Fayetteville Academy beat Carolina Friends School 40-33 Monday.
Allegra Berry led Carolina Friends with 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Durham Academy 57, Voyager 25
DURHAM — Durham Academy beat Voyager 57-25 Monday.
Liz Roberts (15 points), Naomi Lerner (11 points) and Lily Ronco (10 points) were in double figures for Durham Academy.
The high scorer for Voyager was Laura Downing, who had 8 points.
