Ragsdale scored 28 first-half points and cruised to a 28-7 win over visiting East Chapel Hill Friday.
The Wildcats (1-5) scored on a 30-yard fade pass into the corner of the end zone from Connor Staugh to Arkavious Parks with five minutes left in the game.
East Chapel Hill’s defense, led by senior linebacker Ian Levin, only allowed one touchdown drive. But Ragsdale (2-4) scored twice on special teams and once after a long interception return.
The Wildcats drove to the 20 on their first possession, but Ragsdale intercepted a pass on second-and-3 and returned it all the way to the East Chapel Hill 5-yard line.
Ragsdale would end up scoring two touchdowns in each of the first two quarters. ECH’s defense blanked the Tigers in the second half, but the first-half mistakes proved to be too much to overcome.

Franklinton 37, Granville Central 22 – Franklinton scored the game’s first 21 points and held on for a homecoming win over visiting Granville Central.
The Rams (6-0) went up 21-0 on a long fumble return and scored on a 34-yard run in the final seconds of the first half to take a 30-6 lead at the break.
The Panthers (3-3) got back to within 30-22 and had the ball at midfield late in the fourth quarter but turned the ball over on downs.
“They’ve got a really good team and really came out firing early on all cylinders,” Granville Central coach John Hammett said. “(The last-second touchdown run) and the fumble return were two huge play that in the end we weren’t able to overcome.
“We’re just trying to grow as a program. We just have to keep fighting and some day we’ll break through.”

Wake Christian Academy 56, Kestrel Heights 6 – The visiting Hawks scored their only touchdown on a 75-yard run by Yunel Hooks. He rushed for 101 yards in the game.

Southern 62, Northern Vance 6 – Jordan Brown and William Cameron each reached the 100-yard mark in rushing to lead Southern to an easy win.

Brown rushed for 119 yards on five carries, including a 32-yard touchdown run. Cameron had 100 yards on five carries, including touchdown runs of 40 and 35 yards.

Southern scored the game’s first 42 points to take control in the first half.

Southern quarterback Kendall Hinton rushed for 97 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes to Maurice Trowell.

South Granville 56, Cummings 27 – The Vikings won for the fourth time in five games this season behind big rushing nights from Sean Bowman and Earl Green.

Bowman rushed for 272 yards and four touchdowns, including three in the first half as South Granville (4-1) built a 35-20 lead at intermission.

Green rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns while also catching a touchdown pass. Green ran for two touchdowns during South Granville’s 28-point second quarter that erased Cummings’ 13-7 lead.

Cummings held a 20-14 lead in the second quarter before the Vikings reeled off six consecutive touchdowns over the remainder of the first half and through the third quarter.
