GIRLS’ TENNIS

Chapel Hill 8, Orange 1


CHAPEL HILL — Chapel Hill swept six singles matches and went 2 for 3 in doubles, using reserves who did not compete in singles in its Big Eight 3-A Conference match.

Gabriel Chew, Sam Lane, Sam Golden, Elora Dash, Thais Therrien and Joy Stouffer were the singles winners.

Enloe 5, Jordan 4

RALEIGH — Enloe swept the first four singles matches and closed out its tight win over Jordan with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

Jordan’s singles winners were Genevieve Whitcomb and Marianne Moorman at Nos. 5-6.

ECH 6, Cary Academy 3

CHAPEL HILL — East Chapel Hill swept the Nos. 1-4 singles and won a pair of doubles matches to improve to 7-3.

Winners of two matches each for ECH were Brooke Pritchard and Rainie Heck.
 

BOYS’ SOCCER

Green Hope 1, Jordan 0


CARY — Undefeated Green Hope (5-0) took advantage of an own-goal scored by Jordan and made it hold up Wednesday night.

Jordan dropped to 4-2-1 despite seven saves by Billy Morgenlander.

NCSSM 4, Carrboro 3

DURHAM — Jarod Glover and Cameron Pharr scored two goals each as N.C. Science and Math (1-1) nipped Carrboro (2-2-1) in a non-conference match at NCSSM Wednesday.

The match was tied 2-2 at the half.

Cedar Ridge 2, E. Alamance 1

HILLSBOROUGH — Cedar Ridge overcame a 1-0 first half deficit on goals by Osmand Delcid and Eric VonHagen.

WCDS 3, CFS 0


HIGH POINT — Westchester Country Day School had its hands full in a 28-26 third set, but swept Carolina Friends School 25-8, 25-12, 28-26.

Allegra Berry scored with six kills and two aces for CFS.

Carrboro 3, NCSSM 0

CARRBORO — Former Carolina 12 Conference foes Carrboro and N.C. Science & Math met for the first time since moving into different conferences and Carrboro came away with a 25-18, 25-22, 25-16 win.

DA 3, Trinity 2

DURHAM — Mimi Patterson scored 22 points on 16 kills, four aces and two blocks to lead Durham Academy past the Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill 20-25, 26-24, 19-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Chapel Hill 3, Middle Creek 1

CHAPEL HILL — Perry Ramsey scored 18 points and Catherine Romaine 15 to lead the Tigers past Apex Middle Creek 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Madison Gunning had 24 digs and Annie Linker 31 assists for Chapel Hill (6-3).

ECH 3, Cedar Ridge 1

23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-18

CHAPEL HILL — East Chapel Hill put away Cedar Ridge 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-18 in a non-conference match despite big nights by Cedar Ridge stars Cass Michal (39 assists), Mary Anderson (23 digs) and Bailey Freeman (18 kills.)
