Duke’s Boutier makes cut at British Open
Duke sophomore Celine Boutier played her final five holes at 2-under-par Friday on her way to carding a second straight round of even-par 72 as she made the cut at the Ricoh Women’s British Open at the St. Andrews Old Course in Scotland.
A native of Montrouge, France, Boutier enters the third round tied for 49th with a 144. She posted back-to-back bogeys to open the day before playing her final 16 holes at 2-under with birdies on No. 6, No. 14 and No. 18. Boutier hit 13 fairways and 16 greens on Friday, while missing only five greens over the first two days.
Na Yeon Choi leads the tournament with a 10-under 134. Boutier is one of only four amateurs to make it to the weekend, with ESPN2 broadcast both rounds beginning at 10 a.m.
