Bulls make postseason return
The International League playoffs are back at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
After the Durham Bulls missed the postseason a year ago in what’s become a rare occurrence, the team won the International League South Division for the sixth time in the past seven seasons this summer.
That means Durham will be the home team for the first two games of a best-of-five playoff series with IL West Division champion Indianapolis beginning today (7:05 p.m., ME-TV 50.2).
The Bulls and Indians also will play Thursday in Durham before traveling to Indianapolis for game 3 on Friday night. Games 4 and 5, if necessary, would be Saturday and Sunday at Victory Field.
Pawtucket and Rochester will play in the other International League best-of-five playoff series, which also begins today.
The winners from the two series will begin the Governor’s Cup Series to determine the International League championship on Tuesday.
The Bulls, who last won the International League championship in 2009, won a league-best 87 games during the regular season.
