Sooner or later, Duke had to lose Johnny Dawkins. Stanford, like Duke, is difficult to turn down. In picturesque Palo Alto, near San Francisco, Dawkins will be expected to lend his meticulous touch to make sure the Cardinal is in the upper echelon of the Pac 10 as its new head basketball coach.
