EAGLES EXTRAS: NCCU QB call up in the air
The availability of injured N.C. Central quarterback Jordan Reid for Saturday's matchup with Bethune-Cookman will be a game-time decision, NCCU interim coach Dwayne Foster said Friday.
Reid, a redshirt senior, had been the starting quarterback all season until redshirt freshman signal caller Malcolm Bell got the nod last weekend in what resulted in a 24-10 NCCU win at Savannah State.
A lower-leg injury kept Reid from playing quarterback against Savannah State, Foster said.
NCCU can't afford to lose on Saturday and expect to have a shot at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title that guarantees a berth in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
Bethune-Cookman is the defending MEAC champion and this season hasn't lost a single league game. In fact, the Wildcats have been beaten just once, a 54-6 loss to Florida State.
