Duke football has reportedly received a verbal commitment from perhaps the highest regarded college prospect in the program’s history, Scott Bracey, of Benedictine High School in Richmond, Va.

He chose Duke over offers from Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan State, Notre Dame among others.

247Sports.com ranks him as the No. 52 player in the class of 2016, the No. 2 “athlete” in the class and gives him a ranking of 4 stars on a 0 to 5 scale.

Bracey, 6-2, 190, is playing quarterback for Benedictine this season but projects as a wide receiver at the college level. He is ranked as the 32nd best player in the class of 2016 by ESPN.com.

Bracey confirmed his commitment on his Twitter account Friday. "Officially committed to Duke University!!! "

In an interview, Bracey told BlueDevilLair.com: "I feel like this is the start of something big. This is the era of Duke football. I want to be a part of it."
