Former N.C. State offensive lineman Joe Thuney has been entertaining media and teammates at the Super Bowl in Minneapolis with his special talent.
Thuney, who will start in his second consecutive Super Bowl at left guard with the New England Patriots, can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under two minutes.
In a video by Sports Illustrated spotlighting NFL players’ special talents, Thuney solves the 3D combination puzzle in just under 90 seconds.
Never miss a local story.
SI tweeted out: “When the @Patriots’ @JosephThuney isn’t protecting Tom Brady from pass rushers, he’s solving Rubik’s Cubes like a pro.”
“I never understood how anyone could do it blindfolded,” Thuney said. “Because I have to look and analyze and see where the pieces are.”
Near the end while furiously finishing the task, Thuney laments that he almost made a move that would have messed it up.
Chances are, he would’ve solved it again in 90 seconds.
