Hairston: "I'll be on the court"
P.J. Hairston told UNC's student newspaper, the Daily Tar Heel, that he will play this season.
“Yeah, I’ll be on the court,” he said Monday night. “I’m not sure how long I’ll have to sit out. I haven’t found out yet, but whatever it is I’m ready for it.”
That squares with what AD Bubba Cunningham said last week (and really, what everyone assumed all along). Still it's good to hear it again, this time from the player involved.
Of course, the biggest question is still out there: how many games with Hairston miss? There's a big difference between five (UNC likely plays Louisville in its fifth game) and seven (at Michigan State) and nine (home vs. Kentucky).
Hairston was indefinitely suspended after an offseason that included speeding (twice), possession of marijuana and driving cars that were rented by a felon who is currently facing drug and gun charges.
